Grid Down Update

Posted by Simon Lameth on April 15, 2006

We are continuing to monitor the situation playing out in SL right now. The grid has been down for 3 hours now. It looks as if a massave attack took place today. As staff on Stratics says: "A red, spiral Bomb that manifested itself across the entire world brought the grid to it's knees, as residents affected by the attack were repeatedly catapulted thousands of meters into the air." Earlier today, when visiting the welcome area I believe I was affected by this script. I was catapolted 88,000 meters into the air.

Posted by Simon Lameth on April 4, 2006

MMOG Active Subscriptions 18.0 0 - 120,000

(Click image to view entire thing)

This chart from www.MMOGCHART.com shows the amount of subscribers in many MMOG games. The graph is as recent as June 2005.

In December 2002, Electronic Arts stated that their new game, The Sims Online, would have inbetween "250,000 to 300,000" subscriptions at it's peak.

The peak came in June 2003, and was just over 100,000. Now, more than 4 years after the launch of The Sims Online, there are around 50,000. Half of the peak, And drops by the day. Infact, I would guess that more players leave every week than people that are new subscribers.

Fresh Approach to the SL Club Scene

Posted by Simon Lameth on April 4, 2006

BY:Shannan Tandino

On April 8th, we will have a new club opening up, and the name is Poker Face Casino & Club.  The owners say this is a spin on a Vegas Casino and Show, instead of a Vegas Strip Club.  This club will have dancers, slots, casino games, and much more.  On the main floor you can enjoy the dancers, music, have a few drinks, and play a few games.  Poker Face will also have a VIP room for a more intimate setting to get to know the dancers, and even more intimate moment you can ask the dancers if they would like to join you in one of the beautiful private rooms.

This club is run by a close group of friends, and they want the guest to feel like part of a family when they come to the club.  Poker Face will hold events often and would love for everyone to come out and have some fun.  One of the other awesome things about Poker Face is they cater to the new gamers of SL.  If you are new to the game, go check them out and they will help you in any way possible.

Saturday April 8th Poker Face will being having a Grand Opening Party from 5PM to 8PM game time.  Make sure you go by to show your support and win some awesome prizes.

For more information or if you have any questions feel free to contact Mel Goff, Mistina Vavoom, or Shannan Tandino.
