SLCC 07

May Not Be Rebroadcast Without The Express Written Permission of Major League Baseball.

The Metaverse Communications Webcasting Van and 6 HD cameras will remain parked in the Second Life Times headquarters at One SL Times Place in New York City this SLCC.

If you’re planning on attending the Second Life Community Convention this year, leave your camcorder at home or in the hotel room. The newly released SLCC Community Standards prevents you from taping or streaming any “Performance, panel or track” at the convention. Unless of course, you are Phreak Media, well known for their Phreak Radio product, who somehow obtained exclusive broadcasting rights. That’s right, a company on Linden Lab’s developer list has gotten the go-ahead to tape or stream anything at SLCC.

The “news” is somehow exempt to this rule with the line “This does not apply to news coverage and interviews or incidental documentary footage, B-Roll and background images.” There is no clarification on what or who you have to be to be “news”, one can wonder if this means the 5 Chicago television stations with news, anyone that has a blog, or what. That line, however, is restricted with the following “It is not permissible to rebroadcast any performance, panel or track.” line.
